Minerals and waste policy

Landfill site

A new Minerals and Waste Local Plan for Oxfordshire is being developed in two parts; core strategy and site allocations. It will replace the planning policy contained in the Minerals and Waste Local Plan (1996).

Part 1: the Core Strategy was published in August 2015 for pre-submission consultation; and in December 2015 we submitted it to the government for independent examination by a planning inspector. The Inspector's final report was received in June 2017. He found the plan, subject to modifications, to be sound.

The Core Strategy, with the Inspector's recommended modifications, was adopted by the County Council on 12 September 2017. Find more information about the adopted plan, related documents and further information.
