Project 7: Inclusion Health Groups
Understand and support the health needs of inclusion health groups in Oxfordshire.
Why is it important?
Inclusion health groups experience some of the starkest health inequalities in society. These disparities are driven by systemic barriers, stigma, and lack of access to services that meet their needs.
What has been achieved so far?
Exploration work has begun to understand the health and wellbeing needs of different Inclusion Health Groups through discussions with local partners and guidance from the Prevention Health Inequalities Inclusion Health Sub-group. In addition, a system-wide mapping exercise has been undertaken, alongside a review of local insights and data to identify priority areas and inform next steps.
Based on the gaps and priorities identified within the mapping and data review, a grant funding round has now been launched to support projects or activities that help to address health inequalities for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) communities and/or Vulnerable Migrants in particular. These projects will aim to build on existing relationships to address health inequalities and foster trust-based engagement.
