Profile project: The 100 Together green prospectus
Developing a green investment pipeline is a crucial step in accelerating the transition to a low carbon economy and increasing the volume and scale of decarbonisation projects. It also supports nature enhancement, restoration and our ability to build resilience and adaptation.
It is key for identifying opportunities, driving projects forward and unlocking private sector investment in partnership with the public sector.
The green prospectus being developed for Oxfordshire will:
- market the county’s vision of a greener future
- showcase Oxfordshire’s green investment opportunities
- actively promote opportunities to invest in a green future
We're going to be developing a pipeline of projects – so contact us to find out more.
Profile project: Net zero and nature recovery
The River Thame Conservation Trust and Freshwater Habitats Trust are working to pursue net zero and nature recovery at scale in the Thame and Ock catchments. This is through land-use measures, mainly in the agricultural sector.
The Ock and Thame Farmers project, is one of around 50 projects funded by Defra as part of its landscape recovery programme - one of the three elements of the government’s environmental and land management programme.
The project is in its first two year project development phase.
Profile project: Nature positive business
Wild Oxfordshire has been working with business to support them to become nature positive. Their insight highlighted that many businesses are aware of the climate crisis and need to reduce carbon, but are not clear on how nature is relevant, and would like guidance on what to do. Their approach to helping businesses is to support business in owning their journey.
Wild Oxfordshire have:
- created resources for business
- set up a LinkedIn group
- identified ‘nature ambassadors’ from the business sector
