left quote

The cost of not acting immediately and decisively on mitigating the impact of climate change is too high to comprehend.

Dr Martin Reeves, Chief Executive, Oxfordshire County Council

We need to act now

The Pathways to a Zero Carbon Oxfordshire report identified that an investment of £3.5 billion is needed if we are to successfully transition to net zero in the county and prevent a nature emergency. £800 million is needed for nature restoration - critical for establishing a sustainable environment for the future.

That means we need to act now.

Together with the best thinkers from finance, government and the environment sector, we are reimagining new models for financing our green future. We’re working to:

  • unlock the investment needed to deliver environmental activity at scale in Oxfordshire
  • launch a green prospectus for the county that will ensure that projects are investment ready
  • keep the conversation and the action going throughout the partnership – so we can be confident we are delivering real change
