Adult social care services we provide

An overview of services you can get from us. Some are free, some you'll need to pay for.

Unlike the NHS, social care is not free. You will need to pay for some of your care. The amount you pay depends on the level of need and the value of your assets.

There are some services that you can get from us that are free. However, some you will need to pay for, either in full or out of your personal budget.

Free services

  • Your care needs assessment and financial assessment.
  • The information and advice we provide.
  • Services we provide for carers - although we may charge for services we provide to the person you care for, depending on their financial circumstances.
  • Reablement services - a short-term service designed to help people regain independence following ill health.
  • Provision of equipment into an individual's home to aid mobility.
  • The falls prevention service.
  • Flexible care befriending service which supports older people with dementia and/or mental health needs.
  • Dementia services.

Services you'll have to pay for

  • ALERT service - Telecare alarm equipment for vulnerable and older adults.
  • Care home placements.
  • Home support - a range of personal care and support services to help people live in their own homes.
  • Respite care - a short stay in a care home or a care home with nursing or other suitable accommodation.
  • Supported living - a range of housing and support services for vulnerable adults.
  • Extra care housing.
  • Shared Lives
  • Community Support Service enabling them to live in the community.
  • Transport.
  • Community meals.
