Information about the Makerspace at Oxford Westgate Library
The Makerspace is the place to explore new technology, learn new skills, encourage STEM and STEAM learning (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths) and get involved in a range of activities.
Equipment
The Makerspace has a wide range of equipment including:
- Five HP Sprout Computers
- 10 Chromebooks
- Six iPads
- Dremel 3D40 3D Printer
- Prusa Mini+ 3D Printer
- Cameo digital cutter
- Sphero programmable robots
- BBC micro:bits
- Oculus Quest 2 VR headsets
- Sewing Machines
- Tello EDU Drone
- Insta360 camera
- Two CRT TVs for retro gaming
- Blue Yeti microphone
- A range of books on making
We also hold a selection of Lego and Board Games, including:
- Catan
- Wingspan
- Isle of Cats
- Root
- Chess sets
- Ticket to Ride
- Dungeons and Dragons
Activities
Activities include:
- Monday 3:15pm-5pm - After school Lego Club for children
- Tuesday 5pm-7pm - Makers Club for teens and adults
- Thursday 4:30pm-7pm – Board games and Dungeons and Dragons
- Saturday 9:30am-10:30am – Code Club for 8-11 year olds
- Saturday 11am-12pm – Origami for all, beginners welcome

Volunteering in the Makerspace
We are looking for volunteers to share their skills and interests in making, technology, and crafts on a regular basis. You don't need to be an expert. We are particularly looking for people interested in 3D design, and sewing.
