Library room hire
How to hire spaces with your local library
Oxfordshire Libraries now offer local community groups, businesses, organisations and charitable trusts the opportunity to hire spaces within their local library.
Private use
Charges are levied where hirers want the private use of library spaces and rooms during library opening hours, during library closed hours and during extended opening hours (Open Plus) during which there are no OCC staff or volunteers present.
Community use charges
The charge rate for community use applies to:
- not-for-profit organisations
- a registered charitable organisation
- a registered social enterprise
- a local education provider
- a local community group
Commercial use charges
The charge rate for commercial use applies to:
- a private business
- a registered company
- a commercially-based enterprise
- a private individual
Non-private use which is fee-based and profit raising
Charges are also levied where hirers want to use the public spaces in libraries for a fee-based (profit) activity (eg. Education courses), rather than an event with an admission fee, during library opening hours. This is regarded as private hire.
Please enquire at your local library for more information. The library manager will send you a Hiring Form. Please ensure you have read the Terms and Conditions for hiring library spaces / rooms (pdf format, 101Kb) before applying.
