Marriage or civil partnership in a registration office
There are ceremony rooms in registration offices across the county.
Our ceremony rooms
We have ceremony rooms across the county. They vary in style, size and appearance, from the more traditional rooms, such as Oxford's wood-panelled Dexter Room and Banbury's Town Hall, to the purpose-built modern Broadway Room in Didcot.
There is also one office at the Oxford Register Office available for a very simple marriage or civil partnership ceremony. This room can only accommodate the couple and two witnesses and is available for ceremonies on Tuesdays only. This office is called the statutory register office.
How to book a ceremony room
Availability and prices for these ceremony rooms vary, so to arrange a wedding or civil partnership in any of them, contact us.
We will also be pleased to answer questions about arranging a ceremony, provide further information on the rooms, their guest capacity, and discuss any special requirements you or your guests may have, such as provision for people with disabilities.
You must agree a date and time with Registration Services before making any other arrangements.
What to do next
After booking your ceremony at a registration office, both of you will need to book your notice of marriage or civil partnership appointment.
