Classic ceremony
The classic ceremony gives couples a choice of holding their ceremony on fixed days and at fixed times.
- With this package, couples can arrive at the Registration Office together or separately, for a ceremony which can last approximately 20 minutes
- Couples choose their own declaratory words and contracting vows from a selection of three different legal options. They may also exchange rings with ring promises selected from eight different choices.
- The package offers your personal choice of recorded music if required and couples can be escorted down the aisle by a family member or friend if required.
- There is an opportunity for photographs
- The package does not include readings or additional personal vows or personalisation

The fee includes the Ceremony Registrar's attendance and use of the ceremony room. Marriage or civil partnership certificates can be purchased separately for £12.50 per certificate.
Enhanced ceremony
The enhanced ceremony has all the classic ceremony elements above plus the following below which gives couples the choice to fully personalise their ceremony
- Flexibility relating to days of the week with choice of timings.
- Couples can choose up to three non-religious readings (to be approved prior to ceremony)
- Couples can write their own personal promises.
- There is an option of being formally presented (given away) by a family member or friend during the ceremony.
- A pre-ceremony discussion with your ceremony officer is available virtually. To ensure your ceremony is personalised.
- This ceremony can last up to 30 minutes
Readings and personal promises must be submitted at least four weeks prior to the ceremony.

Getting here
There is no parking onsite at the register office. The nearest public car parks are situated at Abbey Close, West St Helen’s Street and Rye Farm.
