Pay the Oxford congestion charge
You must pay the congestion charge by midnight the day after you go past a charging location.
The pre-pay accounts will expire on 27 September, the last day of the temporary congestion charge scheme.
The last day you’ll be able to use your prepaid day passes is 27 September. If you do not use your pre-paid day passes before the congestion charging scheme ends, unused days can be refunded.
If you go through a congestion charge location during charging hours without a permit, you must pay the daily charge.
Congestion charging locations are marked by the road signs shown below.
If you do not pay the congestion charge on time, you might get a fine.
Pay online
You have until midnight the day after you travel, so you can pay for:
- today
- yesterday
- both together
You do not need a permit account.
Pay for today or yesterday, or both
If you pay for the wrong dates we cannot change or refund these payments
Pay in advance for multiple days
You need a permit account to pay online for multiple days (pre-pay credits).
If you don't already have an account (for your parking or congestion charge permit), you'll need to create one.
