Sanctuary Wheels

Access to bikes for refugees and people seeking asylum in the county.

Refugees and people seeking asylum in the county can be helped with cycling training and access to bikes through Sanctuary Wheels. The project is operated by volunteers through Asylum Welcome with Cyclox, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, and Active Oxfordshire.

Over 600 donated bikes have been refurbished so far and provided for refugees and asylum seekers arriving in the county. Recipients will also receive cycle training (and lights, a helmet and a lock). These donated bikes help people to get around in the area and access essential services, including education.
