Oxfordshire County Council election 2025

On Thursday 1 May 2025, the Oxfordshire County Council election will be taking place

The election will be held on the new boundaries, which were brought into force by The Oxfordshire (Electoral Changes) Order 2025.

After the 1 May 2025 elections, the number of county councillors will increase from 63 to 69 elected members, representing the residents of Oxfordshire.

The Notices name the new divisions that will be used within each of the district council areas within Oxfordshire and explain where nomination papers can be obtained and where they must be returned, as this varies for each district. 

Nomination papers must be delivered to the Deputy Returning Officer at the relevant District Council offices on any day from the date of this notice (excluding weekends and bank holidays) but no later than 4pm on Wednesday, 2 April 2025.

Registering to vote 

The last date to register to vote for this election will be midnight on Friday, 11 April 2025.

Postal votes 

The last date to apply for a new postal vote or amend or cancel an existing one is Monday, 14 April 2025, by 5pm. Apply for a postal vote.

Proxy votes 

Applications to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf must be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday, 23 April 2025. Apply for a proxy vote

Voter ID 

Everyone registered to vote will need photographic ID at polling stations. If you wish to apply for free photographic ID to use at a polling station, you must do so by 5pm on Wednesday, 23 April 2025. Apply for photo ID to vote (called a Voter Authority Certificate).
