Crafts, family drop-ins, trails and holiday fun for children and families.

Wednesday 17 August

Poo Soup - 10.30am-12pm, £9 per child

Activity challenge.  First make a bucket of poo.  Then using a variety of different materials, i.e. gravel, sand, charcoal etc. make a filtering system to try and produce the cleanest filtered water.

Magnets 1, 1.30pm-2.30pm (5-8yrs) £7 per child

Various fun activities involving magnets, create a magnet race, make paperclips float and discover iron filling secret messages.

Magnets 2, 3pm-4pm (age 7+) £7 per child

Elements of the magnets 1 workshop along with making an electro magnet. Parents remain free of charge in the workshops.

Tuesday 26 July - Incredible crowns
Create a crown fit for a birthday Queen, with The Oxfordshire Museum and Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum.

Thursday 28 July - Craft, Card and Celebration
Make a box into a celebration cake shape, decorated colourful with pictures of objects from our ‘Oxfordshire in 50 objects’ exhibition.

Tuesday 2 August - Party time for Teddy Bears
Bring your own teddy bear to visit the museum. Make them some party clothes and visit the bear in our ‘Oxfordshire in 50 objects’ exhibition.

Thursday 4 August - Along the Tow Path
Create a colourful canal boat collage picture, make a frame to surround it.

Tuesday 9 August - Marvellous Animal Masks
Inspired by creatures from ‘The Oxfordshire Museum’ and ‘Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum’. Create your own amazing animal disguise.

Thursday 1 August - Pattern Party Streamers
Make your own party streamers with fun patterns found in our ‘Oxfordshire in 50 objects’ exhibition.

Tuesday 16 August - Magic Roundabout Fun
Make a magical mobile to hang at home.

Thursday 18 August - Create, colour and collage
Make something fun inspired by inspired by our ‘Oxfordshire in 50 objects’ exhibition.

Tuesday 23 August - Adventurous Vikings
Explore the world of the Vikings, make a model of their travels to take home.

Thursday 25 August - Smallest Show on Earth
Marvel at our mini theatre and make your own. Put on your own plays and wait for the applause.

Tuesday 30 August - Happy Birthday
Celebrate 50 years of The Oxfordshire Museum Service with us. Make some fun Birthday cards.

Join Groovy Su, every Thursday in the summer holidays in the garden, 11am to 2pm

Dress for mess…we will be painting bunting to celebrate the 50 objects chosen for the Museum's birthday. These will decorate the museum inside and out for the Birthday Party in October!
