Notice is given that on 22 June 2026 Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order to facilitate the holding of the annual Thame 10k Road Race on Sunday 28 June, which is promoted by Andrew Newton, Race Secretary, 36 Maple Road, Thame, Oxon, OX9 2BH The Council is satisfied that it is not appropriate for the event to take place wholly off road. The effect of the order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle from proceeding or waiting:
- between 8.55am and 9.15am on 28 June from Oxford Road roundabout (A418) to the Lower High Street, Thame at its junction with Southern Road and
- on the B4012 Thame Eastern By-Pass, between its junctions with the A4129 Kingsey Road and the B4445 Chinnor Road between 9:00am and 10:00am.
Exemptions are included for emergency services, emergency works, and for vehicular access to adjacent premises, which are only accessible from the closed sections of road.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the B4012 closure is via Kingsey Road, East Street, Park Street, Chinnor Road and Garden City & vice versa. There is no alternative route for the Oxford Road and High Street closures.
