Legal Order 20-24 September
Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford, Various Roads - Filming) special event order 2026
Whereas
the Oxfordshire County Council (“the Council”) is satisfied that vehicular traffic in Oxford City should be temporarily restricted / prohibited in the interests of public safety during the filming of an Apple TV production (“The event”).
Now therefore
the Council in exercise of its powers under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers hereby makes the following Order:
- Save as provided by Article 2 of this order as appropriate, no person shall when and where appropriate signage is in place, other than with the consent of a police constable in uniform, cause or permit a motor vehicle to proceed or wait in the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this order “Sections of Road”.
- Nothing in Article 1 of this Order shall render it unlawful for a person to cause or permit a vehicle to proceed in the Sections of Road if the use of the vehicle is necessary:
- for police, fire or ambulance services
- for access to premises adjacent to, or accessible only from the Sections of Road
- for vehicles and equipment necessary for use in the Event
- The prohibitions imposed by Article 1 shall apply in relation to any part of the Sections of Road to such extent and at such times as there are in place traffic signs (within the meaning of Section 64 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984) indicating that such prohibition is in operation at that part.
- This Order may be cited as the Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford, Various Roads - Filming) Special Event Order 2026 and shall have effect from 20 th September 2026.
