  • Are you happy to work a shift system including nights and weekends?
  • Could you work at heights?
  • Could you work in enclosed spaces?
  • Are you prepared to get wet, cold or hot during your work?
  • Could you work outdoors in any weather?
  • Are you confident being partially and fully submerged in water? 
  • Can you confidently engage with people in your local community?
  • Can you follow instructions from others?
  • Are you able to think on your feet and solve problems?
  • Can you work under pressure?
  • Are you committed to your own personal development?
  • Do you enjoy working cohesively as part of a team?
  • Can you work in crowds?
  • Are you able to take a flexible approach in difficult situations?

Who can apply

Anyone who is 18 years or over (there's no upper age limit) and eligible to work in the UK can apply. 

You will also need:

  • to have an average level of education in Maths and English
  • have no unspent convictions
  • have no known phobia of heights and confined spaces
  • meet the required fitness standards and medical health checks
  • demonstrate the values and behaviours of Oxfordshire County Council
  • an email address so you can complete online psychometric assessments.
