Resolving disputes, mediation, complaints and appeals

Decisions about provision for children and young people with SEN or disabilities should be made jointly with the views of children, young people and parents taken into account.

It’s important for communication to be open and respectful of the different expertise and knowledge that each person brings.

This section describes some of the things that are in place to help parents and young people when they do not agree with decisions that are being taken or are unhappy with something that has been provided. In the first instance it is important to make sure that your views are made known. An advocate may be able to help you.
