Leaving and retirement guidance for employers

older coupleWhen a member of the LGPS leaves employment, opts out of the scheme or is no longer eligible to be a member, the pension contributions must stop and Pension Services need to know. The employer has to decide on benefit entitlement and timetables will be crucial.

If the member is leaving for any of the following reasons, you will need to look at the other pages in this section. LGPS 2014 introduced changes to entitlement to benefits. While we work on bringing these pages up to date, they still provide background to the exchange of information required.
