Information for our existing foster carers

Training and support is so important to our foster carers. Check out the events calendar for details. Some key event dates:

Induction Days are held twice yearly to ensure that all new carers get the opportunity to attend one day.  Dates are 8 April and 25 October 2017 (dates will be confirmed by email). The Induction Day is for new carers to learn more about the service, but also open to any other carers who would like to come along.

If you are interested in joining either the KEEP Safe for ages 12+ or KEEP standard children between ages 5-12, just speak to your supervising social worker. Now also available is TEND which is aimed for children 0-36 months. Contact numbers.

Support Groups

We know that support is vital in the stability of fostering placements with many carers saying they could not foster if it was not for the support of other foster carers.  This is why support groups are so important.

Support groups are also an ideal opportunity for new carers to meet other carers.  It’s time for you to grab a cuppa and relax!

Support groups are held monthly in Abingdon, Kidlington and in addition we have some meetings on the north of the county.  For dates check out the events calendar.
