Community Risk Management Plan

Details of the strategic direction for future fire and rescue provision in the county.

The Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) provides details of the strategic direction for future fire and rescue provision in the county. This is arranged into two documents.

These provide a strategic long term focus enabling us to reach our objectives.

Why do we produce a CRMP?

All fire and rescue services have a statutory requirement to assess their local risks and how resources are used in response to those risks, at the same time providing value for money to the local taxpayer. This is achieved through the CRMP process.

How do we put this together?

  • Identify who and what are most at risk of fire and other emergencies.
  • Determine where they are and how best to reach them.
  • Identify the best ways to reduce and manage the risk.
  • Ensure that our resources are deployed in proportion to the size of the risk.

We ensure that our community risk management plan is as widely consulted upon as is possible to make sure that we reflect what our community wants. We have summarised responses to the consultation into the following document.
