Before using the form
Before reporting a safeguarding concern you need to consider if the child or young person’s needs can be met by services from within your own agency, or by other professionals involved with the family already. You can contact the Locality and Community Support Service for referral to Early Help services, or for support regarding the Early Help Assessment or Team Around the Family processes.
How will calls be dealt with?
- New safeguarding calls are directed to Oxfordshire County Council’s Customer Service Centre, who signpost the correct calls to the MASH.
- Any calls deemed inappropriate to transfer to the MASH will be directed to the relevant service.
In the MASH, a dynamic process of risk assessing cases is in operation. This means that the MASH aim to make an immediate response for the most urgent cases. For cases assessed as having lower level concerns, it may take up to three working days, to make an informed decision as to the most appropriate service required.
Do please note that although we aim to review all MASH enquires immediately upon receipt, this is not always possible. Therefore if the child/ren requires immediate protection then call 0345 050 7666 and state this is an immediate concern and/or contact Thames Valley police (999/101).
The MASH opening hours are: Monday – Thursday; 8.30am – 5pm, Friday; 8.30am – 4pm and the emergency duty team is on call for out of hours service on: 0800 833408.
