When you join the library service online, your new card will be sent in the post to you. In a hurry? Visit a local library, join online in branch and ask staff for your library card straightaway. Remember to bring some ID.
How to apply
To apply you will need the following:
- The name of your local library
- A memorable four digit PIN (not starting with zero)
- An email address. Need help setting up an email account?
It usually takes 1-2 working days to process applications. Once approved we will email your account login details and library card number. Your card number gives you access to our whole range of digital resources, including:
If you forget your PIN, you can reset it online and receive an automated reset link via email.
Your card will be sent out within seven working days. Please wait for your card to arrive before visiting a library, as items are issued via self-service which requires your library card.
