Our policy on sandbags

Sandbags will only be provided in response to emergencies, where public highway flooding occurs.

We will not provide sandbags where flooding from rivers or ground water is occurring.

sandbags are supplied free of charge during emergencies where flooding from public highways is occurring but are not provided for flooding caused by rivers or groundwater
property owners in flood-prone areas are encouraged to prepare in advance, purchase sandbags from local suppliers, and refer to the Environment Agency or National Flood Forum for advice and resources
requests during emergencies are assessed on a case-by-case basis and prioritised based on vulnerability
your parish or district council may provide sandbags
