Build a Beast: Make Anglo-Saxon puppets.

An animal drawn in Medieval Style, using reds, oranges, greys, and browns creating an older look. The beast has its tongue sticking out with Latin that reads: DVX: Bestia Terrae.

Did you know before the Anglo Saxons were Christian, they sacrificed animals during time of celebration?

A number of Anglo Saxon finds includes drawings and carvings of beast-like figures.

Join us Wednesday 28th October as our Finds Liaison Officer will help you bring these Anglo Saxon beasts alive, creating your very own beast puppet.

As well as this, we will also be hosting a finds handling session, so bring along any of your finds and we may be able help you find out more about it!

This family activity is a drop in session with two time slots for the day. Please book into the timeslot you wish to attend so that we can monitor numbers and prepare resources. Please book for all members of the group taking part in the activity. The activity is free but any donations are gratefully received.
