About OYMT

A teenage musical theatre group based in Oxford, producing one show per year.

Oxfordshire Youth Music Theatre is a group of 12 to 18-year-old students from across the county who sing, dance, and act.

Over the last few years, OYMT has built a reputation for presenting high-quality youth theatre, with many former members now enjoying successful professional careers in West End hits such as Rock of Ages and Wicked, and even the 25th and 30th anniversary performances of Les Misérables.

The last show was Les Misérables, which took place at the Amey Theatre from 16-18 April 2026. The company is looking for new members for the next season, when we will be returning to the Amey next April.

Standards

We aim to encourage the highest standards in music theatre. We work as a company during the rehearsal period with professional directors, set, lighting, and sound designers.

We are keen to hear from students who might be interested in any aspects of stage management
