Renew library books

How to renew books online, over the phone or in person.

Renew online

To renew your books sign into your account using your library card number and PIN, go to My Loans.

Put a tick in the box for the items you want to renew, then click OK to confirm the renewal. If another borrower reserves an item, you cannot renew it online.

Other ways to renew

You can:

  • telephone the 24-hours renewal number, 0845 1202811, with your borrower number and library PIN
  • contact any Oxfordshire library by telephone, post, email or in-person with your borrower number.

Renewing a book that has been reserved

If a book has been reserved, a staff member can renew it for you for a further three days. You need to visit or telephone a library to do this.

How many times you can renew a book

You can renew books up to three times if no one else has reserved them. If you still require the book after that, you must bring it to the library to be re-issued. Audio-visual items cannot be renewed and may be subject to additional daily charges if returned after their due date.

Returning a book after the renewal date

Books returned late may be subject to overdue book charges. See library charges for full details.

How to get a library PIN

If you can't remember your PIN, you can reset it online

If you do not have a PIN, you will need to visit an Oxfordshire library, bringing your library card with you. We do not issue library PINs by phone or email to maintain the security of your personal information.
