Music streaming services

Listen at home to many genres of music, including classical, pop, rock, world, and jazz.

You will need your library membership number to access these resources from home. If you are not already a member you can apply to join the library.

Oxfordshire Libraries is now offering two music streaming services, Freegal Music and Naxos Music Library.

Freegal Music

Freegal Music provides access to a collection spanning over 15 million songs, music videos and audiobooks from more than 40,000 music labels worldwide. You can stream and download music from a wide variety of genres on a desktop computer or mobile device. For instructions on creating playlists, please visit the Freegal FAQ.

Visit the Freegal Music website and enter your library card number and PIN to log in.

The Freegal app is available for Apple or Android devices.

Naxos Music Library

Listen to whole discs or individual tracks through the Naxos streaming service on a computer or laptop. Choose from over 60,000 CDs. 

Sign up for an account with Naxos Music Library (NML) to create an account login for the app or to create playlists.

  1. Visit the Naxos Music Library website and enter your library card number to log in.
  2. Click on 'Playlist'.
  3. Click on 'Sign up' and follow the instructions to register for an account.

When you add a track to a playlist for the first time, you will be asked to log in using your NML account details.

The NML app is available for Apple or Android devices. Open the app on your device and enter your NML account username and password to log in. (If you do not have an account username and password, please follow the instructions above to sign up for an NML account). Please ignore the ‘Connect with your institution’ message.
