Fostering

Meet the children who need foster families

Big dreams, little quirks and everything in between.

The football obsession. The ice cream order that never changes. The big plans for the future. It’s the little things that make every child and young person who they are.

Across Oxfordshire, children aged eight and over need foster carers who can offer a caring home, encouragement and support as they grow.

Get to know their stories

Every child is different, with their own personality, interests, favourite things and hopes for the future.

Meet Jack and Sophia

Muddy shoes after an afternoon exploring. Dens are waiting to be built. Lego is taking over the floor. Drawings, games and imaginary worlds turn ordinary afternoons into adventures.

For Jack and Sophia, these are the moments that make up everyday life.

Jack is 11 and happiest when he’s on the go. Friendly and sociable, he loves making friends and getting involved, whether he’s cycling, swimming, exploring outdoors or building Lego and dens. He also has a caring side and is particularly fond of younger children and animals.

Sophia is 9 and brings her own sense of fun. She’s lively, funny and knows her own mind, with a creative streak that comes to life through drawing, crafts, dressing up and anything that lets her use her imagination. She’s also an animal lover.

A place to keep making memories

Jack and Sophia may have their own personalities and interests, but what matters most to them is shared: being together and staying connected to family.

Right now, their family circumstances mean they need somewhere new to call home. While they may be able to return to their family in the future, they need a safe and supportive foster home where they can stay together and continue to grow.

A home where there’s room for muddy shoes, toys and whatever adventure comes next.

Could fostering be for you?

You might think you need specific experience to foster, but many of the skills that make a great foster carer come from everyday life, work and the experiences you’ve already had.

What matters most is offering a child a stable, caring home where they feel supported to be themselves.

You can be single or with a partner, rent or own your home, and in many circumstances continue working. There are different ways to foster, from a few nights of support each week to providing a longer-term home.

We can help you explore what could work for you.

Support every step of the way

Fostering can be incredibly rewarding, but we know there can be challenges and unexpected moments along the way.

You’ll have access to training, professional guidance and a community of foster carers who understand the journey. We’ll be there to help you feel informed, confident and supported.

Every child has a story - could you be part of theirs?

You don’t need to be ready to foster to get in touch.

Whether you’re curious about fostering or have questions about what it could look like for you, we’re here to help you explore your options.
