Apply for a traffic filter permit
The list of permit types, terms and conditions, how to apply and how to prove you qualify.
Congestion charge permit holders
If you already hold a congestion charge permit, you do not need to apply for a traffic filters permit. We will transfer your permit, and you will receive an email and/or letter about this.
Central permit area permit holders
The central permit area we created for the temporary congestion charge will not exist in the traffic filters scheme.
We will transfer central permit area resident permits to Oxford permit area resident permits. That gives you 100-day passes per permit.
We will not transfer the other expiring central permit area permits when the traffic filters trial begins. These are:
- central permit area resident (visitor permit)
- central permit area workplace parking users
- central permit area sports clubs, nurseries, or military training
You may be eligible for a traffic filter permit, depending on your circumstances. Visit the About the traffic filters page for details.
Traffic filter permits are 'virtual'. You will not receive a physical permit to display in your car. The traffic filter cameras will read your number plate and check for a linked permit.
