Advice for learning English at home
- Build confidence: Encourage children, praise their efforts, and help them overcome their fear of mistakes.
- Little and often: Short, frequent learning sessions are most effective.
- Focus on interests: Use children's hobbies (such as crafts, cooking, singing, and exercise) as opportunities to practice English.
- Reading corner: Create a quiet space for reading together; use picture and dual-language books.
- Relax and enjoy: Make English part of daily life—speak it at dinner, watch movies, listen to the radio or podcasts, or play games in English.
- Encouragement: Bilingual/multilingual learners may progress more slowly at first, but this is normal and beneficial for brain development.
