Book a visit to a waste recycling centre
We are introducing a booking website to help reduce queues and make visits quicker and easier.
From 14 January 2026, you must book in advance before visiting a household waste recycling centre.
Book before you visit
Before visiting, you must book a slot on our booking website. Booking can be made up to two weeks in advance or 30 minutes before your visit (subject to availability).
Booking is easy:
- Choose a recycling centre
- Enter the type of waste you are bringing
- Choose a date and time
- Enter your details
We will then send you a confirmation email with all the necessary details. The email will explain what to do if you have any chargeable waste and your weekly free allowance.
Booking help
If you are unable to book online, you will be able to book by calling our customer service centre, open Monday to Friday.
When you visit
On the day of your visit, you will need to bring proof of address, which can be:
- a driving licence
- utility bill
- council tax bill
This is to show you are an Oxfordshire resident and are eligible to access our sites for free.
Sorting items
Before you visit, take a minute to separate the recyclable items in your waste. This will make your visit quicker and easier. Use our waste wizard tool if you are not sure what can be recycled.
We will have sorting areas available on site if you are unable to sort your recycling before you visit.
Sorting items helps to reduce the amount of waste we send for incineration or to landfill.
Non-Oxfordshire residents
If you are not an Oxfordshire resident, you will need to pay £15 per visit to use one of our household waste and recycling centres. Payment will be taken upon arrival, and an additional charge will be applied for all DIY waste.
Changes to van and trailer permit scheme
We are making changes to our van and trailer permit scheme, which comes into effect from 14 January 2026.
You will need to book online before you visit.
The number of visits will be reduced from 12 to 10 per year.
All trailers require a permit and must be no longer than 2.4 metres.
Horseboxes and horsebox vans will no longer be permitted.
Vehicles or trailers with ramps and/or tipping mechanisms will not be permitted. This restriction does not apply to specially adapted vehicles designed to assist customers with disabilities, and current arrangements for these vehicle types remain unchanged.
Vehicles registered to businesses, used for work, or displaying business branding/signage will not be allowed. If you do not have access to another vehicle, you can apply for an exception. We may request further information, and exemptions are granted at our discretion.
Current permit holders
If you currently have a van or trailer permit and still need one, you will need to reapply on our new website. Before you reapply, check if your vehicle or trailer meets our new requirements.
All existing permit holders will receive an email with clear instructions on how to reapply.
