What you need to know

The free disabled tax class vehicle permit allows unlimited travel through all six congestion charging locations during charging hours.

The permit only covers the car when being used in connection with or for transporting a Blue Badge holder or a mobility-related disability benefit recipient.

  • you are limited to 1 permit
  • you can have up to 2 cars on your permit
  • you cannot hold the disabled tax class vehicle permit with a Blue Badge holder or SEND student permit

How long your permit lasts

Your permit will be valid for 12 months or until your vehicle tax expires (whichever is sooner).

You cannot use your permit until we confirm that we have approved your application. Your permit will not be available to use until the scheme begins.
