Blue Badge holders
What you need to know
The free Blue Badge holder permit allows unlimited travel through all six congestion charging locations during charging hours.
The permit only covers the car when being used:
- by the badge holder
- in connection with the badge holder
- for transporting the badge holder (or travelling to pick them up)
For individual Blue Badge holders:
- you are limited to 1 permit
- you can have up to 2 cars on your permit
- you do not need to be the registered keeper of any car on your permit
For organisational Blue Badge holders, there is no limit to the number of cars on your permit.
How long your permit lasts
Your permit will be valid for 12 months or until your Blue Badge expiry date (whichever is sooner).
You cannot use your permit until we confirm that we have approved your application. Your permit will not be available to use until the scheme begins.
Who can get a Blue Badge holder permit
To qualify, you or your child (if you are the parent or legal guardian) must hold a valid Blue Badge (or international equivalent).
You do not qualify if your Blue Badge has expired, or you are in the process of applying for or renewing one.
What you need to get a Blue Badge holder permit
You must provide a copy of your valid Blue Badge (or international equivalent) to support your application.
