Births

Advice on registering or re-registering your child's birth, and information on support available after birth. You can now make an appointment to register and re-register a birth online.

Deaths

Helping you make the necessary decisions and arrangements when someone dies. You can now make an appointment to register a death online.

Marriages

Advice on planning your wedding, including choices of venues and legal formalities. You can now make an appointment online to give notice of marriage.

Civil partnerships

A new legal relationship, which can be formed by two people of the same sex, giving them the ability to obtain legal recognition for their relationship. You can now make an appointment online to give notice of civil partnership.

Citizenship ceremonies

Everyone who applies for British citizenship is required to take an oath or affirmation of allegiance to the Crown, and make a pledge of loyalty to the United Kingdom.

There are eight registration offices across the county. If you want to see a registrar, it is essential that you make an appointment. For availability of Registrars, information and advice across Oxfordshire, please telephone 0845 129 5900 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm).

Oxford Register Office is open:

  • Monday, Tuesday and Thursday:  9am - 4.30pm
  • Wednesday: 9am - 6.30pm (last appointment to register a death 4pm)
  • Friday: 9am - 4pm
