We are a countywide team of specially trained staff based in Oxford, offering advice and support on any type of hearing loss.
Staff have wide experience of all issues relating to hearing loss.
Staff can arrange to see you in your own home or at our office.
We use British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters to help when needed.
We can advise and support people of all ages with matters relating to hearing loss, including:
- equipment assessment, for example, to improve access to smoke alarms, TV and doorbells etc.
- advice on Deaf issues, for example, equal access to services
- provide advice and support to families and their children on all matters relating to hearing loss
- information on all aspects of hearing loss, including Deaf, deafened, hard of hearing, dual sensory loss and mental health needs

How we can help
We support people of all ages. We can help with any question about hearing loss.
Our team includes social workers, support workers and equipment officers. All staff have experience with hearing loss.
We can:
- assess what support you need
- check if equipment could help you at home
- give you information about hearing loss
- help you find other services
- support Deaf children and their families
- support Deaf parents
- help with your wellbeing when hearing loss affects you

Equipment for your home
We can check if equipment could help you:
- know when someone is at the door
- know when an alarm is sounding
- use a telephone
- watch television
- get alerts through a flashing light or vibration
We may need to visit your home to understand what will help.
Tell us how you want us to communicate with you
When you contact us, tell us what works best for you. You can ask for:
- British Sign Language
- a BSL interpreter
- simple written English
- email or text instead of telephone calls
- large print
We can meet you at our office or in your home.
