Combatting Drugs Partnership

  • Works to deliver the UK Government’s 10-year drug strategy, From Harm to Hope, which focuses on three core priorities:
    • breaking the drug supply chains
    • delivering a world-class treatment
    • recovery system and achieving a shift in the demand for recreational drugs.
  • Led by Oxfordshire’s Director of Public Health, Ansaf Azhar, who acts as the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO).
  • The CDP brings together local government, criminal justice, health services, treatment providers and individuals with ‘lived experience’ to tackle shared challenges across Oxfordshire.
  • To drive progress, Task and Finish Delivery Groups meet quarterly to take forward actions in priority areas and report progress to the CDP.

Alcohol Partnership

  • Brings together health, criminal justice, treatment providers, local government, charities, and higher education to tackle alcohol-related harms across Oxfordshire.
  • Led by Oxfordshire County Council’s Public Health team, partners meet regularly to share knowledge and coordinate local and national campaigns.
  • Aims to prevent and reduce the health and social impacts of alcohol, including crime and health inequalities.
  • Provides a forum for sharing best practices, data, and service updates.
  • Ensures support, treatment, and prevention efforts reach those who need them most.

Local Drug Information System (LDIS)

  • Public Health coordinates the Oxfordshire LDIS.
  • The LDIS is an interactive network of local professionals who may encounter high-risk illicit substances or people who use them, in their line of work.
  • The LDIS aims to assess and share intelligence, issuing drug alerts where needed, to help reduce substance-related harm and death.

Professional Information Network (PIN)

  • The Oxfordshire PIN is a subset of the LDIS and works collaboratively to ensure that adequate systems and procedures are in place for managing the risk of emerging drug threats within Oxfordshire.
