Information about Senior Orchestras and how to apply

Symphony orchestras and wind orchestra opportunities for players of grade 5 standard and above meeting regularly on Saturday mornings in term time at the Centre for Music in Oxford.

Over 200 of dedicated young musicians in Oxfordshire meet every Saturday morning at Central Music School (CMS) to play with the county's top orchestras. The students work hard to rehearse challenging and exciting repertoire culminating in a series of concerts throughout the year.

Applications are now open for the 2023 - 2024 season.

Applications will be online only via our Information System.

Once your have registered your child to the appropriate orchestra, you will be contacted to arrange an audition if appropriate. This may apply in the case of oversubscribed sections.

Oxfordshire Youth Wind Orchestra (OYWO) for grades 5+

Oxfordshire Schools' Symphony Orchestra (OSSO) for grades 5+

Oxfordshire County Youth Orchestra (OCYO) for grades 7+

Fees

£135 per term invoiced twice a term at £67.50 per half term.

Minimum 30 sessions across the academic year.
