Park and Ride locations

How to find Oxford's Park and Ride sites, and decide which one to use.

Thornhill (OX3 8DP) - located off the A40 from Thame, Aylesbury, High Wycombe, London and the M40 to the east of the city, just before the ring road.

 
Dark blue pin image

Redbridge (OX1 4XG) - located off the A34 from Abingdon, Didcot and Newbury. This site is located to the south of the city.

Seacourt (OX2 0HP) - located off the A420 from Swindon and Bath, to the west of the city on the Botley Road.

 
Purple pin image

Peartree (OX2 8JD) - located to the north of the city, this site can be accessed from the A40 (from Witney and Cheltenham), A4260 (from Kidlington), A34 (from Banbury, Bicester and Northampton) and the M40.

 
Green pin image

Water Eaton (OX2 8HA) - this site is located to the north of the city and can be accessed from the A40 (from Witney and Cheltenham), A4260 (from Kidlington), A34 (from Banbury, Bicester and Northampton) and the M40.

Which Park and Ride site should I use?

This depends on your starting location and where in the city you want to go:

  • the Park and Ride bus services 300, 400 and 500 take you to the city centre:
    • 300 - from Redbridge and Pear Tree
    • 400 - from Seacourt and Thornhill
    • 500 - from Water Eaton
  • service 600 from the Thornhill site serves the Nuffield and Churchill hospitals (AM/PM peak only)
  • service 700 from Water Eaton takes you to the John Radcliffe, Churchill and Nuffield hospitals.
  • service X13 and 23 from Redbridge to John Radcliffe Hospital.

Parking space availability

The Park and Ride car parks are very popular - particularly Thornhill (off the A40 from London) and Seacourt (off the A420 from Swindon and Bath), which are sometimes full by 9am.

There are also live travel signs on the A40 approach to Thornhill, which will warn you if that car park is full.
