Some Local Authorities maintain a Register of People with Disabilities. It enables them to identify people with particular needs.
About this service
If you have a substantial and permanent disability, you are over the age of 18 and you are a permanent resident of Oxfordshire, then you can apply to be registered disabled with Oxfordshire County Council under the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970.
Concessions for people who are registered may include:
- eligibility for a disabled person's parking badge
- reduced admission charges to cinemas
- a discounted TV licence
- disabled person's railcard
- vehicle tax exemption
- VAT exemption for equipment to support your disability
- subsidised holidays
- toll concessions
- RADAR national key scheme
- free legal advice
- reduced council tax.
