How to order a certificate
Call 0345 241 2489 with a credit / debit card.
Download, print and complete the appropriate form below, and pay the necessary fee. Cheques should be made payable to Oxfordshire County Council.
- Birth certificate application form (pdf format, 41 KB)
- Death certificate application form (pdf format, 40 KB)
Post with your cheque or postal order for the appropriate fee to the Registration Service.
For applications made from abroad, payment may be made in pounds sterling by credit card or by cheque in pounds sterling drawn on a bank with a UK address printed on the cheque together with international reply paid coupons. Please do not send international money orders.
In person with cash or cheque only
At our Oxford office with the appropriate fee.
How long it will take
We aim to dispatch certificates within seven working days of receiving the application, provided we are given full and correct information and the relevant fee. Family history enquiries may take longer.
Birth or death not registered in Oxfordshire
You will need to apply to the registration district where the event took place. If you are unsure where to apply contact us.
