In Oxfordshire, we are proud that compared to the national average, a high number of people with learning disabilities are in employment and supported living.
This reflects our commitment to enabling people to become as independent as possible and to do what matters to them most. It is also a direct consequence of the positive relationships we have built with housing and health organisations in the county.
Investing in staff
"Giving people the opportunity to learn and develop is ingrained in our working culture and we invest in the people we work as well as our staff; we support them, and actively encourage their development. At the county council we can directly see the positive effects of this – a high number of staff pursue a long term career with us.
