Local outbreak control plan

Measures we are putting in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus and control local outbreaks.

Local plans have been put in place by local authorities in partnership with the NHS and Public Health England to reduce the spread of infection and manage local outbreaks.

Oxfordshire’s local outbreak control plan is designed to help return life to as normal as possible for as many people as possible in a way that is safe, protects our health and care systems, and supports our local economy.

It has been developed by Oxfordshire County Council’s Public Health team, working with colleagues from the city and district councils, Oxfordshire Health, Oxford University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group, Public Health England and Thames Valley Police.

Aims

The local outbreak action plan aims to:

  • Prevent the spread of COVID-19
  • Establish surveillance to enable early identification of coronavirus
  • Proactively manage local outbreaks
  • Co-ordinate response and capability across local agencies
