Joint Physical Disability Strategy

A joint physical disability commissioning strategy for Oxfordshire 2012-15.

We have developed a joint health and social care commissioning strategy with Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group to meet the needs of people living in the county with physical disability.

This replaces our previous commissioning strategy - Promoting Independence.

Why we've produced a joint strategy

We are responsible for commissioning social care and support for people with a physical disability. Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group is the body that will in future commission health services in line with the Health and Social Care Act 2012. Together we believe that a joint approach will work better for people with physical disability.

There needs to be a more integrated approach to care where services are built around the individual, and we believe this approach will help people to live as independently as possible for as long as possible.

Consultation

This strategy was developed with the support of a consultation led by Oxfordshire Unlimited. The strategy has been developed in line with the general comments received during that process.‚Äč

Housing Options in Oxfordshire

As part of finding an easy system to find a solution to housing need, a booklet (pdf format, 800KB) has been developed by group members in consultation with service users and carers.

Paper copies are also available from the district councils and Oxford City council.
