Dignity in Care in Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire Dignity and Dementia Champions’ Network

You may know of the National Dignity in Care campaign which was launched in November 2006 by the National Dignity Council and whose aim was to put dignity and respect at the heart of UK care services.

The campaign has over 90,500 champions and if you would like to sign up to be a national dignity champion, then you can do this through the national website

In support of that campaign, here in Oxfordshire we have a locally established network called the Oxfordshire Dignity and Dementia Champions' Network with over 120 champions.

Could you sign up to be a local champion?

It doesn’t cost anything to be a member of our Oxfordshire network - all that you need is an email address for receiving information.

If you would like to join our network, please email Sally Latham, Oxfordshire Dignity and Dementia Champions’ Coordinator and ask to be added to the email distribution list (you can unsubscribe at any time).

Signing up to be a champion demonstrates your commitment to promoting dignity and respect in your own settings.

What will you get back in return?

  • You will be forwarded the national Dignity in Care e-newsletters as they are produced (usually monthly)
  • You will be invited to an information sharing meeting in Oxford City Centre in June and December each year
  • You will receive occasional, information sharing type emails from Sally Latham (sometimes advertising events, or disseminating news contributed by other members of the network).

In order to keep costs as low as possible we always communicate by email and send e-newsletters. However, for anyone who would like to join the network but doesn’t have access to a computer, there are other options available.

If you would like to sign up to be a champion…

Please email, phone, or write to, Sally Latham, Oxfordshire Dignity and Dementia Champions’ Coordinator and ask to be added to the distribution list (you can unsubscribe at any time).
