Information about hiring a taxi

If you are not a regular car user but do, on occasion, need the use of a car or mini bus for work or personal reasons; are you aware of the options available to yourself?

Have you considered using Oxford’s many Hackney Cabs and private hire services instead of purchasing a car and only using it intermittently, or even using it for journeys where other modes of transport will be just as adequate (or even preferred)?  If this sounds familiar then using a taxi services maybe a more suitable substitute for you.

Taxis cannot only be more cost efficient but from a personal point of view can also lower your carbon footprint as the vehicle will only be used as and when needed.  For a list of approved operators within Oxford city, please click here.

West Oxfordshire District Council has issued a leaflet for passengers on what they should be aware of for Hackney Cab and Private Hire Vehicles.
