About Friends Against Scams

Friends Against Scams is a national Trading Standards Scams Team initiative which aims to protect and prevent people from becoming victims of scams by empowering communities to take a stand.

It has been created to tackle a lack of awareness by providing information about scams and those who fall victim to them.

This information enables communities and organisations to understand scams, talk about scams and cascade messages throughout communities about scams prevention and protection. It encourages communities and organisations to take the knowledge learned and turn it into action.

Anybody can join Friends Against Scams and make a difference in their own way.  Online learning is available through our website or free face-to-face awareness raising sessions are being rolled out nationally.

Training sessions

Friends Against Scams sessions and 'SCAMchampion' training are being held on Thursday 27 July at Unipart Conference Centre, Garsington Road, Cowley, Oxford OX4 2PG. People are welcome to do both sessions.

  • The Friends Against Scams sessions are at 9.30am or 1pm.
  • SCAMchampion sessions are at 11.30am or 3pm.
