Writing an energy action plan

How to save energy in schools.

What is an energy action plan?

An energy action plan is an integral part of your school's energy management system  and should summarise the actions you want to take at your school to utilise energy more efficiently and, where possible, reduce energy consumption. It should help you raise awareness and gain support from the whole school community.

What should be included in your energy action plan?

The energy action plan can be as simple as a list of viable achievements your school wants to make with timescales attributes to them. Each school is different, so tailor your plan to suit your needs and resources. Remember to include actions on behaviour change as well as actions to manage energy use in the school buildings.
