If you are at home you can still get free access to a range of titles using your library membership number.

A few titles require a library membership number. Enter the nine-digit number without spaces. If you are not a library member, please ask a member of staff for a temporary number. If you join the library, you will also gain access to many of these titles from any computer.

This collection contains full runs of 71 newspapers specially selected by the British Library to best represent nineteenth century Britain. This new collection includes national and regional newspapers, as well as those from both established country or university towns, including Jackson’s Oxford Journal, and the new industrial powerhouses of the manufacturing Midlands, as well as Scotland, Ireland and Wales. The British Newspapers Archive aims to digitize up to 40 million newspaper pages from the British Library, from the 1800s right up to 1999. Filter your search by time period, region or place or publication and see how historical events were reported in their own time.

Go Citizen

GoCitizen.co.uk is an online study resource for candidates preparing for the Life in the UK Test or British citizenship test. The service includes an online version of the latest official study materials licensed from the Home Office, the people who write the handbook, plus hundreds of practice test questions in the same format as the official test. Access to GoCitizen.co.uk is completely free for residents who call in to any of the Oxfordshire Libraries. Members of Oxfordshire Libraries can also access GoCitizen.co.uk from outside the libraries using their library card number.

Mango Languages

Mango Language Courses allow you to learn languages online (including French, German, Mandarin Chinese & Spanish!)

Choose from over 60,000 CDs including the entire Naxos catalogue and hundreds of other licensed independent labels, such as ARC, EMI Classics, Chandos, and Sun Records with 500 new CDs added every month. Enter your library membership number in the Passcode box at the top left hand of the page.

Naxos Music Library App for Android & iPhone

Naxos provide an app which allows library members to access Naxos Music Library from their Android or Apple mobile device using either WiFi connections or your data plan. To use the app, follow these steps:

  1. Find and download the NML app (via Google Play, iStore, etc.)
  2. Login into Naxos Music Library via the link on www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/referenceonline, and enter your borrower number.
  3. Click on Playlist.
  4. Click on Sign Up and register (the username and password you create will be used within the app. You cannot use your library card to log into the app).
  5. You can create a playlist within the Naxos Music library website OR just log in to the app and search, browse and stream.


Naxos have also created a Youtube tutorial to guide you through these steps.
