Parking at Park and Ride sites

All you need to know about parking at our Park and Ride car parks around Oxford.

How long can I park for?

You are allowed to park at Thornhill and Water Eaton for 72 hours (charges apply). There is no maximum stay at Seacourt, Pear Tree and Redbridge as you can pay for multiple days' parking - see the Oxford City Council website for details.

How do I know if spaces are available?

There are also live travel signs on the A40 approach to Thornhill which will warn you if that car park is full.

Are there disabled and parent and child parking bays?

The number of disabled parking spaces at each site is shown below.  There are no parent and child spaces at any of the sites:

Can I park overnight at the Park and Ride sites?

Yes.  You are allowed to park at Thornhill and Water Eaton for up to 72 hours after paying the appropriate charge.

There is no maximum stay at Seacourt, Pear Tree and Redbridge as you can pay for multiple days' parking - see the Oxford City Council website for details.

What are the opening hours of the Park and Ride buildings?

Please note that both Seacourt and Peartree do not have buildings, but staff are on duty at the times shown below:

Are there height restrictions at the Park and Ride sites?

Yes, the Park and Ride sites do have height restrictions:

  • both Water Eaton and Thornhill have a height restriction of 2.1 metres (6ft 11 inches)
  • Redbridge has a height restriction of 1.9 metres (6ft 3 inches)
  • Seacourt is 2.2 metres (7ft 3 inches)
  • Peartree is 2.3 metres (7ft 6 inches).

Tall vehicles can be parked at Water Eaton and Redbridge, but you will need to ask a security guard to open the barrier to allow you in. The gate can only be opened whilst the security patrols are on site (see the table above for opening hours).
