Music technology

Find out about our music technology provision for schools and individuals.

Primary schools

We recognise that some schools find the composition side of the music curriculum a challenge. We have trained some of our staff to deliver composition through iPads using Garageband. This Digital Audio Workstation app enables children to make choices about every aspect of their composition: the structure, duration, tempo, instrumentation, texture, key, etc.

Highly accessible by primary school pupils, we offer music technology lessons using a school’s own iPads and downloaded software. Music Technology sessions can be ordered as a lunchtime or after-school club, or as part of curriculum time.

Please use the schools order form below if you wish to order the Music Technology provision for your school.

Centre for Music in Headington

We are also offering beginner, intermediate and advanced Music Tech groups at our Centre for Music, at selected Saturday morning Music Centres around Oxfordshire and at our Adults evening on Thursdays.
